reflections2004.04.01Work Completed
SummaryThere's been a great deal of change in the project this week. To begin with, I've decided that XML is not a flexible enough data source in and of itself to use for my game. Rather, I need the functionality of an RDBMS - in this case, I'm going to use MySQL. In order to get information out of the database, I'm going to use PHP scripting. I'm familiar with PHP, so I don't anticipate any learning curve issues associated with this approach. Additionally, I've redefined the scope of this project. The game will only be for one player, and unless I unexpectedly have more time at the end, features such as a count down timer for answering questions will not be implemented. The bare minimum of functionality is defined as accepting a name, displaying categories and questions, allowing the user to select questions, allowing the user to answer questions, giving feedback, and keeping score. All additional features will be added after this core functionality is implemented. Furthermore, any graphical upgrades will also be made later. Work On Tap
