Summary

I've been thinking more and more about it, and it seems to me that just giving a response like 'Correct' or 'Incorrect' after a user answers a question will not be sufficient. In everything I've seen read instruction, feedback and reinforcement are key components to learning. I've decided that I need to incorporate feedback into my project.

I have done so by adding another screen after the user answers their question which indicates to the user whether he or she has gotten the answer correct, and then gives some kind of explanation. The explanation will allow instructors to give whatever kind of feedback best suits the question at hand.

In thinking about this, I've also decided that there will need to be some kind of administrative interface for this program. This will be designed to allow an administrator, be it a teacher or trainer or someone else, add questions and categories to the game. This should permit the game to be tailored to a subject or environment, and makes it much more flexible.

I'm not sure how this will work yet using XML; the administrative interface may need to completely rewrite the XML file, or might just append information to it. I'm going to look into it.
