SummaryI knew when I began this project that I wanted to use Macromedia Flash to create some kind of game. I've been impressed, in the past, with what people can do with Flash, and I think that I might be able to pull something good off. Additionally, I want to make a game that could be useful in training or education, since I've spent the last semester in EDIT 6190 hearing about instructional tools. I've ultimately decided to create a game show, patterned after the popular television game show Jeopardy!. I think that it will be convenient to use such a well-known show, since most, if not all, of the users will be familiar with it. I'm currently in the planning stages. I know I want to be able to store the questions and answers for the game outside of the Flash movie itself, so that it will be easily adapted to multiple subjects. Additionally, I want to have the ability to keep score, and to give the users a goal to shoot for, the ability to store high scores. I'm not sure, at this point, if the game will have multiple users. There seems to be reasons for and against this - having multiple users will give a sense of competition to the game, while having a single user should encourage self-learning. This issue will likely be revisited. Work On Tap
