reflections2003.10.30Work Completed
SummaryThe preliminary database design has been completed. I created an Entity Relationship Diagram, which can be viewed in the Links section below. The database design is based on my idea for what data the entire system needs to contain. This was determined through brainstorming and researching of "competition" websites. The entities in the database include recipe, user, ingredient, and image. In finishing the overall system design, and reading Sims' article on Interactivity, I wondered whether I could incorporate any interactivity in my project. In some ways, the functions of the site represent Object, Linear, and Heirarchical Interactivity, as the users will be able to navigate the site in both linear and nonlinear ways, and will be able to search and enter text into forms. All these interactions give the site more depth, and transform the stateless media of Hyper Text into a dynamic, changing environment. LinksWork On Tap
