edit 6210 participation2003.11.20T3 Design Team MeetingThis meeting took place after the showcase dress rehearsal. It was mainly focused on feedback recieved and changes that needed to be made for the project to be ready for the showcase. The group went through a compiled list of suggestions from the dress rehearsal, the pilot testing, and the expert reviews given by the Natural Design Team's EDIT 6200 consultants. The reviews were generally positive, and contained specific changes to be made in order to make the project more usable for its target audience, undergraduate forestry students. There were several EDIT 6200 consultants there, which helped in creating an atmosphere of discussion and feedback. The team discussed the pilot testing and what the EDIT 6200 consultants should keep in mind for next semester, such as remembering to bring headphones, since many on campus computers do not have speakers. I also gave the team a verbal desk crit. The team also discussed the different strategies taken by users of their program and how that related to what type of learner they are. The program is broken up into two sections, Hardwoods and Softwoods, with several different tiers below each main heading; each section contains the same subsections, so the information is organized similarly in both. Some learners went through Hardwoods in its entirety before beginning Softwoods, while others tended to read corresponding subsections in order to compare and contrast them. Overall, the communication during this meeting was much better than at the last one I attended. The team seemed to be on the same page, and it helped them to get some constructive criticism from the consultants and myself. Their project is coming along well, and should be in good shape in time for the showcase. |
